Mazda hints at new CUV

Mazda Kuero conceptSize is difficult to judge from the teaser sketch released by Mazda, but the length of the side between the muscular wheel well flares suggests a large vehicle. On the other hand, the squat side windows and ambiguity of a rear door line suggest this may be a crossover coupe similar to a Range Rover Evoque, which would in effect create a new mainstream market segment, if it’s brought into production. Read more of this post

The Nissan DeltaWing is one of those really weird looking racecars somebody thought would be superior on the track due to its innovative design. It wasn’t. But as with many racetrack ventures, things do translate into real-world advancements, so it’s not a complete surprise to hear the DeltaWing (which apparently no longer carries a Nissan connection) will spawn not just a street version but perhaps a series of vehicles for everyday roads, according to a release from the builder. Mercedes G-Class reaches for new heights

Mercedes-Benz G500 4x4 showcarMercedes-Benz is getting ready to create the next G-Class off-roader and borrowing what it learned from one of the most unusual sport-utility vehicles on the market.

The Mercedes G500 4×4² gets its elevated chassis from the G63 AMG 6×6 the company introduced in 2012 and which was recently taken out of production after notching just 100 sales (production ended to maintain exclusivity, claims Mercedes).

VW to show new crossover in Detroit

Volkswagen CrossBlue Coupe conceptAbout a year before the roll-out of the production version of its CrossBlue Concept sport utility vehicle, Volkswagen is reportedly ready to show a five-seat concept version at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. According to Reuters, the new crossover will be approved for production for the 2016 or 2017 model year.
